You are: Learning About Me
You could be: Home or At My Portfolio or Playing Boggle
My name is Andrea and I am a 2006 Emerson College alum. Post graduation I continued my unwavering love of various arts at Mass Art, and School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Academics aside, I spend most of my day working as a Jr. Web Developer at a travel technology company in Newton MA.
I made my first debut on the web about 8 years ago, and sadly it still survives on the pop-up driven free AngelFire host it was published on (I've tried to delete it but it still remains...and no you cannot have the URL so dont even think about asking...eesh). Anyway, I have tremendously upgraded web hosts since then.
In 2005, I resisted the idea of CSS layouts and cringed at the realization that old habits of web development must be laid to rest. After an appropriate mourning time for Tables (about 30 seconds) I kicked them to the curb, dove into the wonderful world of CSS, fell in love, and never looked back.
Since this awakening, I have spent countless hours with my nose in CSS books, resourced a plethora of CSS tutorial websites and have gratefully read the trial and error blogs of other designers. I truly have a new found appreciation for code organization and simplicity and base my design ethic around utilizing CSS and XHTML in an effort to build user friendly, browser compatible websites that are web standards compliant.
I have been drawing since I realized crayons were for coloring (not for eating) and have many intrests in other artistic fields. I grew up in Virginia and now reside in the beautiful city of Boston. I love music, designing, drawing, color, painting, photography, bike/horseback riding, family, friends, animals, etc...I gather my inspiration from said things. My goal is to keep learning and developing as an artist/web developer and to create the best pieces of work I possibly can, because doing what you love for a living is priceless. Who can argue with that?
